Fast
With robust laser power, improved energy distribution to the material, and smaller laser spot size, the new FLIGHT® Technology achieves significantly higher power density upon reaching the surface of the powder bed, thus enabling the full sintering of powder in an extremely short amount of time. With scanning speed of over 20m/s (66 ft/s), FLIGHT® Technology is able to achieve extreme sintering speeds that pushes the additive manufacturing productivity to a new level.
Production Ready
Application of FLIGHT® Technology on Farsoon's flagship production system 403P series leads to a powerful, yet versatile polymer additive production. The FLIGHT® 403P series is offered in multiple production-sized build cylinder for improved throughput and high-temperature-capable configuration. Like all Farsoon systems, the new Flight® 403P Series is truly open with machine parameters and powder choice are unlocked for the users allowing for unparalleled freedom and operational flexibility.
Fine Detail
FLIGHT® Technology is able to achieve a more homogenous energy distribution over the processing surface, and a finer spot size compared to the standard laser sintering systems, while at the same time ensuring good energy penetration throughout the entire process. This results in improved feature detail compared to other plastic powder-based technologies with feature details as small as 0.3mm (0.012 inch) while still achieving the part property benefits of standard laser sintering.
Fiber
FLIGHT® Technology or FIBER LIGHT® Technology takes advantage of powerful fiber lasers in place of the standard CO₂ lasers found in standard laser sintering systems. A fiber system is capable of delivering greatly increased power to the powder bed. Due to the more robust and stable nature of a fiber laser system as compared to a CO₂ system FLIGHT® Technology also provides increased laser longevity which is key when considering ROI for manufacturing applications.
- Feed Cartridge: Farsoon's FLIGHT® 403P series are designed with exchangeable build and feed cartridges. Once the FLIGHT® 403P system completes a build this design allows for the quick swap out of the build and feed cartridges to dramatically reduce machine down time. This robust and flexible operation enables faster production turn-around times to maximize throughput.
- Build Cartridge: The exchangeable FLIGHT® 403P series Build Cartridge can be paired with Farsoon's External Cooling Station which enables controlled and inert gas protected cool down outside of the 403P machine. This controlled cool down process helps ensure dimensional accuracy and mechanical performance for the finished parts.
- Breakout Station: The Farsoon FS04-PPS Breakout Station offers efficient powder removal and management while ensuring a clean work environment for the users. The fully enclosed operational chamber with integrated gloves eliminates direct contact with the powder. The Breakout Station includes a built-in sieving screen and powder collection container as well as an external connector for a vacuum to streamline powder handling workflow.
- External Cooling Station: The Farsoon 403P Series External Cooling Station offers efficient cooling and maximizes production yield at the same time. It is designated for cooling the build cylinder part cake right. Once printing job completion for continuous workflow, removing the need for long cool down time inside the main system.
- External Cooling Box: The FS-EC-02P External Cooling Box offers enhanced operational turn-around for cooling process, and maximizing machine up-time. The Cooling of the powder cake is then conducted under the inert gas atmosphere for an efficient, uniformed cooling process. Cooling the powder cake in the External Cooling Box frees the build cartridge to be used for a new build, reducing production turnaround time.
- Powder Management System (PMS): Integrated with multiple powder handling process including used powder recycle & storage, new powder supply, high-speed mixing, and powder sieving, the robust PMS system enables a streamlined material workflow with minimum down-time of the 3D printing machines, with improved throughput and lower cost per part.
- Powder Delivery Unit (PDU): The PMS system can also be paired with a mobile Powder Delivery Unit (PDU) which transports the prepared powder directly to the printers. Once there the PDU's integrated pump transfers the powder into the printer's powder feed cartridge.
